Homemade Pig’s in blankets ‘BANGERS’ Ingredients
Makes approx. 12.
- 25g butter
- 300ml milk (at room temperature)
- 2 tsp dried yeast
- 500g plain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 pack of Herta’s smoked sausages
- Oil for brushing

To make the Homemade Pig’s in blankets ‘BANGERS’
Pre-heat the oven to 200°C
- In a bowl add flour, salt, sugar
- In a jug, stir in the yeast into the lukewarm milk and leave to stand for a few moments.
- Make a well in the bowl with flour mixture, poor in the milk/yeast mixture to combine the ingredients.
- Leave the dough to rise for 30 minutes while you have a cup of tea.
- Divide the dough into 12 pieces and roll each piece into a long piece 1cm thick. Roll the dough around the sausage, leaving the end of the sausages exposed. About 2-3cm in each end should be exposed. Make a cross section at each end of the sausage (see picture) and brush with a little oil. Once cooked you will see the reason for this.
- Place on a lined baking tray and leave to rise for 15 minutes, brush the dough with a little beaten egg.
- Bake in the middle of the oven for approx 15 minutes. Leave to cool on a wire rag.
Enjoy!
