Paper Straws Decorations

Pretty paper straws with a little garnish to surprise and enchant friends and family.

A simple but very effective idea, this can be used for almost all celebrations – just change colour of straw and theme and create the imagery you want …how about some fancy glittery Union Jack ones or pink butterflies for a fairy party…

Heart themed straws: Make a day of it and when the celebrations are over, remove the ‘heart flower heads’ and attach to a card. Will make a great Mother’s Day card or just a lovely card for someone you are thinking of….

You will need:

• Paper straws
• Pipii Heart template
• Various Ribbon or Bakers Twine
• Cup cake cases
• Doilies
• Flower or curious decoupage images

Alternatively, use any kind of stickers, sweet papers, magazine or newspaper cut out, and musical score sheets are also great.

Usually starting with a cupcake cases flattened, combine together with doilies, decoupage and other embellishments (using non toxic PVA glue as it will be used near food and drink) to make beautiful ‘flower heads’ and ‘rosettes’ and when finished cut a small straight line approx 1.5 to 2cm long top and bottom of decoration (see illustration) for the paper straw to fit through.
