Crepe Paper Fringe Garland

You will need:

  • String; linen or bakers twine would work well for this. I have chosen bakers twine to complement my lush spring pastel crepe paper colours.
  • Crepe paper streamers – anything between 3 – 7 different colours.
  • Scissors
  • A pencil to twist tassels round.

How to:

  • Decide on the length of your garland and cut a length of twine to this length. We have cut the bakers twine longer than required in order to have 30-40cm to tie with at each end.
  • Cut 2 x 40cm long lengths for each tassel. Lay them on top of each other and fold over to make each one 4 layers @ approx 20cm length.
  • Cut long strips up the ‘open end’ of the crepe paper, approx 4-5 cuts is about right. Cut to 4-5cm before the closed end. (This should give you around 20-25 strips per tassel.
  • Next, place a pencil through the closed end/folded loop and twist round a number of times making a secure loop and thus creating the tassel.
  • Complete this for each tassel...ie however many you wish to make…I suggest making more than you think, it looks super lush with many tassels. And a roll of crepe paper will give you loads!
  • Tread onto the string to complete. One gorgeous tassel garland to enjoy!
